Questions
How much is flea and worm treatment?
Prices start at £4.50 for a Milbemax worming tablet for small dogs and puppies. NexGard Spectra, which covers fleas, ticks and some worms including lungworm, is £8 to £13.50 a dose depending on your dog’s weight.
How often should I treat my pet?
It depends on the product and your pet’s lifestyle. Many treatments are given monthly. We’ll tell you how often for the one you choose.
Can I use my dog’s flea treatment on my cat?
No. Some dog flea products contain permethrin, which is poisonous to cats. Only use a product made for your pet’s species and weight.
What flea treatment is safe for rabbits?
Not all flea products are safe for rabbits, so always check with us first. We stock Advantage spot-on, which can be used on rabbits, at £6.50 a pipette.
Why does lungworm matter?
Dogs catch lungworm from slugs and snails, including from toys or water bowls left outside. It can be serious, and some monthly treatments prevent it. Ask us which.
My pet still has fleas after treatment. Why?
Most of a flea problem is in your home, as eggs and larvae in carpets and bedding. Keep treating every pet in the house on time, wash bedding on a hot wash and vacuum often. It can take a few months to clear completely.
